TAG: 3 Day Lyrical Challenge – Day Two

Well, well, well…we meet again, friends. It’s DAY TWO of the 3 Day Lyrical Challenge! Thanks again to Angela over at Hiding Behind Books Blogย for this tag and I apologise, yet again, for how long it has taken me to do this!!! Day One of this tag can be seen here!

The Rules:

  • Thank the person who nominated you
  • Share one of your favourite song/lyrics one at a time for three consecutive days
  • Nominate three other bloggers each day

Because I did a challenge last week, I’m only going to nominate one person per day because I don’t want to pressure anyone, etc.

My Song:

The song for today is one of my all-time favouritesย  – the kind of song I listen to when I want to feel like a bad bitch queen who can rule the world and conquer everything in her path. Now, you might think I’m strange, but it’sย Two Black Cadillacs by Carrie Underwood.ย If you read and listen to the lyrics, it’s actually quite dark and tells the story of two women (the wife and the mistress) who plan the murder of the cheating husband. Kind of kickass, huh?

[Verse 1]
Two black Cadillacs driving in a slow parade
Headlights shining bright in the middle of the day
One is for his wife
The other for the woman who loved him at night
Two black Cadillacs meeting for the first time

[Chorus]
And the preacher said he was a good man
And his brother said he was a good friend
But the women in the two black veils didnโ€™t bother to cry
Bye bye, bye bye
Yeah they took turns laying a rose down
Threw a handful of dirt into the deep ground
Heโ€™s not the only one who had a secret to hide
Bye bye, bye bye, bye bye

[Break]
Two black Cadillacs, two black Cadillacs

[Verse 2]
Two months ago his wife called the number on his phone
Turns out he’d been lying to both of them for oh so long
They decided then heโ€™d never get away with doing this to them
Two black Cadillacs waiting for the right time, the right time

[Bridge]
It was the first and the last time they saw each other face to face
They shared a crimson smile and just walked away
And left the secret at the grave

I hope that was kind of fun! Until tomorrow, my loves! Happy reading!

Allie

xx
