TOP 6 FICTION BOOKS OF 2017

I know, I know, Iโ€™m a bit late to the party, but I eventually got here! I think this year was one of the greatest in terms of fantastic reads by really wonderful authors. It is ridiculously hard to only pick six, but that is the trend I’m trying here on this blog ;P.
Letโ€™s do a countdown, shall we?

6. Come Sundown by Nora Roberts
ย
Iโ€™ll have you know that I have been reading Nora Roberts since I was twelve – most likely earlier, but Iโ€™m just saying twelve because that seems like a safe number. My first series that I read from her was the Chesapeake Bay Quartet about the Quinn brothers and damn, does Nora Roberts know how to write the intricacies of family love.
Come Sundown isnโ€™t any different.
Come Sundown focuses on the Longbow family, who owns the Bodine Ranch, which is a resort, offering the highest of luxuries, and the ability for tourists to ride horses and tour the mountains. The narrative focuses on Bodine Longbow, the CEO so to speak, of the Bodine Ranch, and Callen Skinner; and the Longbow family mystery of the disappearance of Bodineโ€™s aunt, Alice Longbow. There is murder, an insane psychopathic killer, suspense, romance, and the unconditional and long-standing love of family.

5. Archangelโ€™s Viper by Nalini Singh
ย
I wrote a full-length review of Archangelโ€™s Viperย because I had too many feelings and I desperately needed to share it with the world! I have said it before, and I will say it again, Nalini Singh is a Queen, and everyone needs to read her books. Archangelโ€™s Viper is the tenth book in her Guildhunter seriesย (READ IT) and I did not realise how much love I would have for both Holly and Venom.
The basic premise of this book and I might make an overall review of the entire Guildhunter series so I can go into a bit more detail, is a journey for self-acceptance, healing and kicking ass. Holly is an extremely unique character, and her romance with Venom is not the entire focus of the novel, instead, itโ€™s about herย and how she is dealing with her traumatic experience with the Archangel Uram.
An honest-to-God fantastic read, that is definitely worth every accolade of awesomeness.

4. The Hate You Give by Angie Thomas
ย
Just. read. it.
You cannot have gone through 2017 and not have read this masterpiece. it is thought-provoking, exceptionally relevant with a young adult book finally discussing poignant issues surrounding racism and equality.
Just read it, I canโ€™t put it into words how much this book impacted me.

3. A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas
ย
Of course this book would be on the list! Letโ€™s be honest, this book was a firestorm of pure, unadulterated awesomeness. Rhys with forever have a piece of my heart, and Feyhre is one of the most incredible female characters ever written. There is action, magic, wings, smexy times, friendship and the deepest of loves.
This would be one of my all-time favourite books ever, and one of the best in the series, hands down. The way in which Sarah J. Maas weaves her universe and the characters together is masterful and I longingly await in anticipation for any and all of her written works.

2. Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff
ย
OHHHMYYGAWWWWDDDDDDD.
Please, please, please tell me that you have at least read Godsgrave?! Godsgraveย is the second instalment in the Nevernight Chronicle, and it blew my freakinโ€™ mind.
The story follows the epicness of young assassin Mia Corvere and her work for the Red Church, and her uncovering of its corruption in order to avenge her familyโ€™s death. Itโ€™s nail-bitingly fabulous, and this series is a must-read!

1.Silver Silence by Nalini Singh
ย
And we are finally at number one!!!!! How can I articulate the pure majestyย of Silver Silence?
Silver Silence is technically the โ€˜firstโ€™ in the Trinity Series but follows on from Nalini Singhโ€™sย Psi-Changeling series. So, itโ€™s within the same universe, and the same characters, only this time, we venture to different changeling packs and are introduced to different Psy beings.
I absolutely adored Silver Silence. I mean I BLOODY EFFING LOVED IT IT WAS MAGNIFICENT I COULD READ IT AGAIN AND AGAIN THERE WERE BEAR CHANGELINGS AND A KICK ASS WOMAN FOR A PROTAGONIST AND A PSY FAMILY FILLED WITH AWESOME WOMEN AND I REPEAT: BEAR CHANGELINGS – VALENTIN THE BEAUTIFUL HONEY BEAR WITH ALWAYS HAVE MY HEARTย  ย  ย  ย *FLAILS AND WAILS*
Read it and give it all the love.
