hi friends!
happy new year! it has been…
a while.
I am so sorry but last year got away from me so completely! I’m heading into my last year of my PhD, so things have been heating up. Hopefully it won’t burn me this year. Fingers crossed, please.
But I am planning on making a gentle comeback because i miss making content! I need some sort of creative outlet and there’s only so much space i can rant on instagram.
So, my goal is to have at least one post per week – maybe alternate between a dedicated review and some other sort of blog post. I am still thinking about it. I want to start drafting some posts this week and next week…I’ll keep you updated via twitter and instagram (if you care!).
But I just logged on to my blog today and I saw that one of my posts keeps getting so many views?! The Kingdom of the Wicked by Kerri Maniscalco review. So freaking random, but I’m happy people seem to be reading my incoherent thoughts about it!
I really hope that everyone is staying safe out there. Here in melbourne, it could be better. But i’m trying not to read news as much because that is just so freaking depressing right now. I am also technically back at university – but I’ve allowed myself a super slow week back this week, just to ease myself into it. And I am so glad I did, because I’ve been trying to write the introduction to this new chapter and I am absolutely stumped. i think my issue is that i am too far in my head about it. I’ve spent so much time away from writing and my thesis that I have completely forgotten how to at the moment. So, a slow and gentle ease into it is required.
In terms of reading! I have finished reading three books already this month. Blakwork by Alison Whittaker, Girl, Woman, Other by Bernadine Evaristo and all about love by bell hooks. Three really great books and I am so happy 2022 started off with them. I might post a mini review of all about love soon, we’ll see how good i am at planning.
I hope you have all had a great start to the new year. Here’s hoping that this year is at least a tiny bit better than 2021 and 2020.
Until next time, happy reading!
all the love,
allie
