…
Oh my god, it’s the last day of the challenge already? I can’t believe it! I’ve had so much fun doing this, to be honest, and I want to thank, for the last time, FableHunter, for the initial tag! Seriously, thank you so much! You can look at my first quote here and my second quote here.
The Rules:
- Thank the person who nominated you
- Post a quote for 3 consecutive days (1 quote each day)
- Nominate 3 new bloggers each day
My Quote:
For the last day, my quote is actually going to be a poem from the incredible Nayyirah Waheed, from her poetry collection,ย Salt.ย This is a poetry collection that you need to read – it is eye-opening and absolutely stunning.
you broke the ocean in
half to be here.
only to meet nothing that wants you.
– immigrant
Every single time I read this poem, my heart shatters. As a child of immigrants, I can understand the racism, the derogatory comments and the way society treats immigrants. The first time I read this poem, I cried and then I made my mum read it and she cried also. Nayyirah Waheed packs a punch and she would have to be one of the greatest modern poets of our generation.
My Nominations:
- Princess of Pages
- Lili at LilisBlissfulPages
- Amy at TomeswithTea
Please, if I do nominate you, don’t feel pressured that you have to do it! If you want to, and if you have spare time, have some fun! If you do decide to participate, please tag me so I can see!
That’s it for today, my loves! Until next time, happy reading!
